Jeremy Striker’s Lady Seù Otrobanda references Curaçao’s Seú harvest tradition. For this stop we use the dedicated Google Maps place at 130 Frederikstraat for the exact location.
Artist: Heilige Familie CollegeLocation: naast Viaduct Otrobanda
A mosaic stairway beside the Otrobanda viaduct, created as an art project with students from Heilige Familie College. The photo helps you recognise the right staircase immediately.
Much’i Ser’i Trapi is a Garrick Marchena work in Ser’i Otrobanda. The mural is closely tied to its steps and street setting, which makes the photo especially useful when finding it.
This floral mural by Jhomar Loaiza from 2022 brings together tropical flowers, a portrait and a hummingbird on Hendriksteeg. Its dedicated Google Maps place takes you to this art location.

A metal artwork by Giovanni Abath (7.1) centred on mental freedom. Among the painted façades, it is a strikingly different form of public art in Otrobanda.
Avantia Damberg designed this colourful staircase for Otrobanda. Its full title is “With Taking Colorful Steps We Reach the Top”, usually shortened to Colorful Steps.
Otrobanda’s art did not appear in isolation. Neighbourhood revitalisation brought residents, artists and organisations together around clean-up, beautification and making local stories visible again. Kaya Kaya grew within that broader community approach.
An early large example appeared on De Rouvilleweg in 2017, where Instituto Buena Bista students worked with Fundashon Ser’i Otrobanda and incorporated residents’ stories into a mural. More pieces followed, from established local artists to international festival contributions.
